Sahayam has been initiating and organising events to create awareness among children and thier parents. We are focused on various social causes – from prevention of child sexual abuse and creating awareness on the situation of children to self development and social well being.

International conference

Sahayam is a ‘One Stop Intervention Centre’ for Emotional Enrichment for One and All. Sahayam welcomes all individuals of different age groups to enhance their emotional status and well-being by providing them with its services. Sahayam is a non-profit organization which aims towards emotional/psychological wellness of individuals. With a vision of holistic wellness of all, Sahayam offers specialized scientific methods of intervention, integrating and blending the conventional methods of psychological therapies with complementary healing systems to achieve the state of wellness for its clients.

In order to provide its services to the budding Indian Mental Health professionals and enhance their skills, Sahayam is organizing two major events in its Chennai and Delhi branches each in September 2019. The topic of the international conference in Delhi is TRAUMA INFORMED CARE – Identification and Management.

Sahayam Intervention Centre, Delhi is organizing a ‘One Day intense Master Session’ for all mental health professionals around the globe. We feel it’s essential for all individuals working for positive mental health to come together and share their experiences and cases for enrichment and enlightenment on handling variety of client population. The international conference in Delhi will be an opportunity for professionals and students to deliberate, listen and learn the skills of handling trauma in clients and handling professional burn out as a result of handling trauma. The keynote speakers are practitioners in their respective countries with immense experience in the area of trauma care.

The topic of the international seminar and master class in Chennai is TRAUMA INFORMED CARE – Identification and Management.

The international seminar at Chennai will be an intense training session by the eminent professionals. Our experts will focus on imparting technical knowledge and skills that may be applicable in Indian setting. This session will be an interactive session solely dedicated to young professionals and students to enhance their skills and guide them through their own experience in the field. The seminar and master class is being delivered by our experienced mental health professionals from Australia and Canada.

Keynote Speakers:

Jothi Ramesh, Phychotherapist/Social Worker

Jothi Ramesh, M.A., RSW is a Social Worker/psychotherapist practicing in Toronto, Canada. She has over 25 years of experience as a therapist and specializes in individual, couple, family and group therapy. She has expertise in trauma-informed care and has extensive experience working with LGBTTQ communities. She works from an anti-oppressive and social justice framework. Psychotherapy is a big part of Jothi’s practice. Jothi is also the Trustee of Sahayam Charitable Trust.

Dr. Vinod Raveendran – Psychiatrist

Dr. Vinod Raveendran works as a Senior Staff Specialist Psychiatrist with the Liaison Psychiatry service at John Hunter and Maitland Hospitals in Newcastle, NSW Australia. He is involved in providing psychiatric care to those who are admitted to general hospital wards with medical and surgical problems. He also runs outpatient clinics where he provides pharmacological and psychological treatments for people with complex medical and psychological problems.

He has been involved in training medical students, junior doctors and psychiatry trainees for many years. He currently holds a Conjoint Lecturer position with the School of Medicine and Public Health, Faculty of Health and Medicine, University of Newcastle, NSW, Australia where he is involved in training medical students, Junior Medical Officers and Psychiatry trainees.
